Description
Defendant appeals convictions resulting from her role in a conspiracy to import cocaine from the Bahamas for distribution within the United States. Defendant challenges the admission of testimony from her co-defendant about an inculpatory statement defendant made while the two shared a jail cell, as well as the admission of evidence of defendants earlier criminal behavior. Defendant also attacks the trial judges failure to declare a mistrial after her co-defendant commented at trial on defendants refusal to speak to police at the time of her arrest. The government appeals the district courts refusal to enhance defendants sentence for obstruction of justice and challenges as well the courts decision to reduce defendants sentence for acceptance of responsibility. We AFFIRM defendants convictions and the sentence imposed by the district court.
